Premier League matches in eastern Australia kick off 11 hours later on the clock than in the UK until 28 March 2027. A traditional 3pm Saturday kick-off in England starts at 2am on Sunday in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart, and an 8pm UK evening game starts at 7am the next morning.
The gap is that large right now because the UK went back to Greenwich Mean Time on 25 October 2026, while New South Wales and the other daylight saving states moved to AEDT on 4 October 2026. Every fixture on our Premier League page is already shown in eastern Australian time.
What time do Premier League games start in Australia?
The Premier League uses a handful of standard kick-off slots. Here is how they convert while the UK is on GMT and eastern Australia is on AEDT:
| UK kick-off (GMT) | Sydney/Melbourne (AEDT) | Brisbane (AEST) |
|---|---|---|
| 12:30 Saturday | 23:30 Saturday | 22:30 Saturday |
| 14:00 Sunday | 01:00 Monday | 00:00 Monday |
| 15:00 Saturday | 02:00 Sunday | 01:00 Sunday |
| 16:30 Sunday | 03:30 Monday | 02:30 Monday |
| 17:30 Saturday | 04:30 Sunday | 03:30 Sunday |
| 20:00 weeknight | 07:00 next day | 06:00 next day |
Only the lunchtime game reaches you on the same evening. Most of a weekend round lands between 1am and 5am, and Monday or Friday night games become breakfast viewing.
When does the time difference change?
Two clock changes, a week apart, shift the gap in the run-in:
- Until 28 March 2027: UK on GMT, eastern Australia on AEDT. Difference: 11 hours.
- 28 March to 4 April 2027: the UK moves to British Summer Time on 28 March, while AEDT continues. Difference: 10 hours.
- From 4 April 2027: NSW daylight saving ends at 3am AEDT and clocks return to AEST. Difference: 9 hours, so a 3pm UK game starts at midnight.

Does Queensland use the same kick-off times?
No. Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory do not observe daylight saving. Brisbane stays on AEST, ten hours ahead of GMT, so every match starts one hour earlier there than in Sydney, as shown in the table above. New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT are the ones that observe daylight saving.
